Valpredo Sweet Potato Crumble

Valpredo Farms in Bakersfield, CA grows some of the best organic sweet potatoes in California. They know great sweet potatoes and this simple dish comes straight from their family table. 

With the perfect balance of light buttery goodness, sweet crunchy crumble and natural sweet potato flavor, Valpredo Sweet Potato Crumble offers a healthy and delicious way to capture the essence of great organic sweet potatoes and the essence of the holiday season. Enjoy!

Serves 6-8

6 medium sweet potatoes - peeled & chopped into cubes
kosher salt
½ stick of butter
½ teaspoon of cinnamon
½ cup of heavy cream
pinch of nutmeg

Add potatoes to boiling water in a dutch oven. Add kosher salt, enough to make water very salty. Reduce heat to medium and let boil on low heat for about 20-30 minutes until tender.

Drain potatoes.  Add butter, cinnamon, cream, and nutmeg and mash together until well blended.

For the Topping: 

½ cup of oatmeal
½ cup of sliced almonds
½ stick of butter melted
½ tbsp of cinnamon
1 tbsp of sugar

Mix well and crumble on top of potatoes.
